Episode #149 of Drunk Ex-Pastors begins with a voicemail from a guy from the nicest nation on Earth, after which we briefly revisit the topic of hell (Jason thinks the idea that it is needed in order to keep people in line is mostly crap). We discuss the push-back over Christian’s thoughts on Artificial Intelligence, drawing from our vast knowledge of sci-fi films to set the record straight. We take a call about the healthcare debate, and then hear from a real-life Trump supporter who, as a white male (gasp!), thinks people need to stop being so sensitive and offended all the time. We hear from more listeners who bring up whether marriage is worth fighting for, whether sharing our personal beliefs is important, and why only our culture chooses the right animals to eat. Christian is biebered by the housing market, while Jason’s bieber focuses on ice.
Also, 4 year-olds with mustaches? Shudder.

I swear I left a comment…I’ll try again. If it’s gone again, I’ll take that as a hint 😉
A couple of things: I made a comment when I shared the podcast that I only yell at the radio when I’m yelling at the callers on your podcast. Today, I yelled at the guy that was saying that we’re offended way too easily or we’re getting offended more often. I don’t agree with that. I don’t think we’re more offended now than we were 50 years ago. I just think NOW it’s easier for some of those groups (minorities, women, etc) to speak up without being lynched or any other number of ways they were silenced in the past. Also, it’s not up to the person offending to tell the offended that they’re being too sensitive. It’s not YOUR (plural) decision to figure out where that person’s line is for being offended. I don’t like people I don’t know calling me a ginger when clearly that’s what I am or assuming that because I am a redhead, I have a temper. I do, but I digress. Or some of the more clearly offensive things that can be said to me. It’s similar to the girl/woman thing. If we’re close and you want to make a comment about me being a redhead, fine, but if we’re acquaintances, you don’t get to make those jokes.
Also, I know Christian said he liked root beer; have you tried Sprecher’s? It’s REALLY good.
Christian Kingery
I agree, Kim! And I will look for Sprecher’s. 🙂

I despise leaving Vx, so I’ll most likely never call in and leave one, but I have a Beiber that borders on a Kanye that I’d like to share that you JUST hit on! I’m not annoyed with you, per se, but EVERYONE does it and I feel like I spend a lot of time correcting people.
Do you ever get called Chris? Because I never go by “Kim”, and I can honestly introduce myself to you while shaking your hand and say, “Nice to meet you, I’m Kimberly” and no kidding, the person will say, “Nice to meet you, Kim”. So, how often with your name, do ever find people calling you “Chris”? Ever? Is it just me and my name in particular? I’ve heard a lot of “Well, every Kimberly I know goes by Kim” as if that makes it better. Because I know a lot of Jennifers that don’t go by Jenny, and they don’t seem to find this to be an issue.
