DXP #154 begins with some clarification over ‘90s bands and vocab, after which we take a call that demonstrates just how entitled and technologically inept we really are. We then are asked about the censorship of transgender boobs, which leads us into all manner of personal divulgences from nipple tweaking to masturbating on buses. Once again, Christian mansplains Match.com, focusing on profile pics and what they should include and exclude. In our “Messed-Up Math” segment, Jason outlines the unfortunate formula according to which a man’s cautionary tale becomes his goal. We get an interesting question (even though it’s from the 909) about whether being predisposed to seeing miracles helps people see them and vice versa, as well as voicemails about the treatment public figures receive in response to controversial behavior, why people think the English language is in danger, and whether it’s fair to say that conservatives are more violent than liberals (given recent events). Jason’s bieber is leading him to smoking in enclosed public places, while Christian is biebered by Jason.
Also, there’s just a LOT of nipple in this one.

• Listening to you two talk about what turns you on is very disturbing.
• “English” = White. And if there is one thing white folks in America are constantly worried about is losing their predominant position in the power structure. And the reason that fear plagues so many people is because they are worried that once the other folks have power, they’re going to treat white people as badly as we’ve treated them throughout the centuries.
• If you’re on vacation, I would highly recommend drinking a cold beer in a hot shower in the morning. Immediately puts you in that vacation mindset, you’re relaxed and calm.

I love you guys so much but I think I may have to stop listening for fear of my rising blood pressure when you discuss how conservatives are so much more violent than liberals. I have called in to gently remind you about the various recent incidents that have been shown, during that conversation, and each conversation you have thereafter, you have write off those incidents as not indicative of the left, or that those who are acting are not in line with the views you are discussing, or one of the other excuses.
I call myself conservative, not republican, because my views lean toward fiscal conservatism, but are pretty left leaning when it comes to social issues. I hope this gives me some clout in this discussion, that and my residence in California. (It’s hard not to be a little liberal in this state.)
My hope is that you I hope you realize that all viewpoints/sides/political views have outliers, but those do not speak for the vast majority of us. The only true similarity with most/all of these people is mental illness, not their ideology.
One of the most basic issues that I feel we have in our country right now is the dissemination of information to the masses. I listen to your podcast for this very reason. I know you two have been there and done that with regard to both conservative and liberal views. I also know that for the most part, you give both view points and shed light to the inaccuracies in both. However, when it comes to this issue, you both seem to shy away from that. A couple weeks ago I called in to explain that it may seem like the conservative side is worse to you because you tend to listen and give credit to more left leaning news sources, which show the most base of the other side to help bolster their position. Both sides do this. You proved me right in this week’s episode when a caller gave specific examples of liberals behaving in the way you are proclaiming they do not. The only incident of which you were aware was the most recent shooting, in which you claim the shooter was just following the right wing way of handling ideology. For your edification, I am providing links after my sign off to a couple news sites showing some of the left leaning examples.
I feel strongly on this, not because I am some whackadoo conservative, but because I care about you guys, your show and the country we all live in. I am extremely concerned that each side is moving more and more toward an echo chamber, each only believing what they believe to be true based only on their own perception of the truth. You guys are smarter than that, and on most other issues, you guys foster in depth, reasoned discussion. Instead, on this issue, you are pushing those who disagree with your ideology away, moving further from reasoned discussion about the issues. The best way I can describe my feels are to compare them with the way Jason felt in relationship to the “girls v. women” topic.
I want to end by saying that I hope that my sincerity in writing this and my love for you guys comes through. I have been a loyal listener since episode 8 and was a longtime patron until our income dropped. I’ve send kitchen items for Jason and purchased his book. (Im lazy so I plan on also purchasing the audio book.) I don’t say any of this to brag or enlist sympathy, but only to evidence my love for you guys in hopes you will look at this seriously and thoughtfully.

“Listening to you two talk about what turns you on is very disturbing.”
Based on some feedback I’ve received, that’s subjective. 😉

That’s pretty absurd. Whites have been a great blessing to the other races, basically bringing them civilization and all the modern comforts of life, doing so while producing practically no pollution, especially compared to what the third world produces. Unplug yourself from the videodrome Old Man.

I can’t tell if this is serious or not.

Sorry I’m a little late on commenting on this episode. The conversation about violent acts committed by the crazies on both sides of the aisle struck a nerve with me. There may very well be more violence committed by conservatives than liberals, but continuing down and maintaining this line of thought is dangerous. By generalizing that one political affiliation is more violent than the other you are automatically ostracizing a large percentage of the country and as a result pitting that group against the accuser. Our toxic two party system then feeds on this sort of “them versus us” mentality and breeds all sorts of ignorance and maybe even more violence. I think regardless of who commits the violence it needs to be labeled as nothing more than radical lunacy. I would love to hear you guys discuss this further because I think its one of the biggest and silliest problems with this country right now.
